It’s not so easy to really see me.
Sometimes I hide under a layer of emotions, behind a ceremonial mask to hide what I don’t like.
And if I take off this mask, what will happen?

I did my Pegasus in NY in 2016, not far after my Lady Godiva. I was thrilled to mix different influences, modern and old, reel & imaginary.
Mix eras out of time and space, integrate the horse in all space times, review history and appropriate it.
Imagining Pegasus twirling in the saturated NY air among the glass towers, virtually multiplying in those giant mirrors. Embrace the sky, vibrate in the air, get drunk on the sounds of the city.
And if the future was to integrate the past?

Back to 2006! It was almost at my beginnings. I was fascinated by feet. Not in a fetish way or something 😅
My interest was focused on the articulations, the bones, the structures of the hindquarters, the volumes, the dips & bumps…
You can notice that my style was not well defined yet. You couldn’t recognize me behind the painting. I was totally in research and I’m still am.
Back at that time, my thoughts were not the same, my vision as well. Of the horses, of the life, of the painting… Change is good. Change is life! 💫

I’m not that old to say that but I don’t want to fight with myself.
My head imagined something lighter, simpler in the transcription… ok. And, my other parts of me have done something all but simple.
First I was disappointed.
Later on: so did I feel the joy to do it, a rush of intense happiness? The answer is definitely yes!
So, what else? Nothing. The answer is already here.
Because I wanted something different (whatever it is some lightness or try to paint on ceramic or draw with one hand…), it has provoked something in me and I figured out how to do something new, be that as it may.
Here, I got around the basis request in going and finding colors I don’t use to feel the painting lighter.
Finally, I reached my goal! Not how I imagined… We say that the most important is the path, right?

This horse is very special to me as it represents my first mare I lost in 2019. She was 31 yo, we spent 25 years together. 🥰
I’ve been painting her many times and I certainly will do it again. Kind of keeping her alive with me. ❤️

At the same time blurry like the movement and precise like the lines, the horse and the painting merge. One anchors us in the earth, in the real, the other takes us to distant and unexplored lands of our soul or our unconscious.
